1 tbsp garlic powder or minced garlic
2 sticks butter, softened
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried parsley
1 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 tsp salt
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
1/2 to 1 cup shredded cheese (Monterey Jack cheese, asaiago, colby, mozzarella, etc)
Extra virgin olive oil, to brush on the bread
1 loaf of french or Italian bread, sliced in half horizontally
Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position and heat oven to 375 degrees.
Brush olive oil on both of the breads.
In a small bowl, place the softened butter, seasonings, and cheeses. Use a rubber/silicone paddle, cream/mash the ingredients together until well combined. Using the spatula or a knife, spread the butter mixture evenly all over the cut sides of the bread. Can sprinkle on a little more dried parsley or italian seasoning on top if desired.
Place loaves on a baking sheet and bake for 10-20 minutes until cooked all the way thorough and cheese/butter mixture has melted. Can toast under the broiler for 30-60 seconds if desired or turn the oven up to 400 degrees. Remove from heat and serve
