Cream Cheese Frosting

(M 1st)

8 oz cream cheese

1 stick unsalted butter, very soft

2-6 cups powdered sugar, spooned or poured into cup (use 3 cups for a mildly sweet but mostly tangy cream cheese taste and 3 1/2 to 4 C for a more sweet and slightly tangy taste)

1 tsp vanilla extract

1-4 tsp milk or cream, as needed to thin out to spreading consistency


Mix soft butter on low speed until creamy. Add in cold cream cheese. Add one cup powdered sugar and mix on low speed until well blended. Add in vanilla.

Gradually add remaining powdered sugar (1 cup at a time) and mix on low to medium speed until light and fluffy. Add in some milk if needed to thin the frosting
