Wilton Sugar Cookie Recipe

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter , softened

1 3/4 cups granulated sugar

1 egg

2 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In mixing bowl, cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and extracts. Mix flour and salt; add to butter mixture 1 cup at a time, mixing after each addition.

Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls on sheets.

Bake cookies on ungreased cookie sheet 7-12 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned.
